Lockdown mode confirmed for Revolution

As we've seen with televisions, the next gen videogame systems will also feature some sort of parental lockout options to prevent kids from playing games when they're not supposed to. I have no feelings about this feature since I'm an adult and do as I wish. However, I do see the trend of more and more cutting edge toys offering the option of locking out itself. The next Windows operating system, Windows Vista is said to have that sort of thing built in as well. All I have to say about this is....Whatever. No biggie to me. Hope this feature doesn't affect any of you!

Yeah, I certainly hope Nintendo gains some marketshare in the next gen console wars. Although they probably aren't at war with Sony and Microsoft anymore, it'd still be nice to see a strong following and keep Nintendo encouraged enough to not pull a Sega and go software only.

I don't see how this feature will help Nintendo compete with the other systems (as someone commented) when they include the same features. (XBox 360, PS3, and Windows Vista all have parental controls.)
Also, here's a thought: how many parents will actually use these? When parents are buying their kids Grand Theft Auto and Doom 3 without even considering if their kids are old enough, how likely are they to use parental lock-out?
